SoftComp Research Platform Experimental Inventory
GENERAL

The pool of experimental techniques in this network is wide ranged comprising static and dynamic light scattering, dielectric spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, rheological techniques, microscopies, neutrons and x-ray techniques.
These tools will be available for the participants of the networks as a whole. Soft matter research often requires smaller, specialized equipment that is not commercially available. Some examples of such set ups are light scattering from surfaces and interfaces and spatially resolved heterodyne light scattering to probe local fluid flow velocities in optical cells, combinations of microscopy and shear cells, fluorescence equipment to probe diffusion, optical tweezer and photonic force microscopy.
