| Research Platforms |
Research Platforms comprise the technical capabilities within the network which will be opened for joint use in a collaborative spirit.
The platforms bring together infrastructure and resources of the partners in the areas of synthesis,experimental techniques, theory and computing in order to integrate activities in line with the goals of this Network of Excellence.
Each be chaired by a platform chairman:
Synthesis: Luis Liz-Marzan
Experimental techniques: Geoff Maitland
Theory and computing: Wolfgang Paul
The chairpersons convene annual meetings of the respective platform members in order to review the common use and future needs in these areas.
The platform chairpersons report to the Network Coordination Committee and advise it on issues concerning the integration of research groups, such as the modalities of opening of research platforms to users from other groups.
On request of the platform chairpersons financing of platform related issues will be considered either through the budgets of the different workpackages or, to a smaller extent, by the Network Coordination Committee through its reserve.
